National Vocational & Technical Education Commission (Navtec) and Technical Education & Vocational Training Authority (Tevta) of Balochistan signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) under which new technical institutes will be established in 13 un-covered tehsils of Balochistan province with a total cost of Rs 156.23 million. Regional Director, Navtec, Prime Minister Secretariat, Balochistan and Secretary B-Tevta, Labour & Manpower Department, Government of Balochistan, signed the MoU.

Chairman Navtec, Adnan A Khawaja and Balochistan Minister for Labour, Muhammad Sarwar Musakhel, in a recent meeting at the PM's Secretariat, had reached on a consensus and decided to sign the MoU to start the work on the programme of establishment of the technical institutes.

According to the MoU, the parties will join hands for establishment of 13 new vocational centres and vocational training of 5460 persons over a period of 30 months, ie, 2,340 persons per annum in various technical trades. The project will be completed in two and a half-year.-PR
